📖 Risk Management Guide

POSITION SIZING

The golden rule: never risk more than 1–2% of your account on a single trade. This ensures you can survive a losing streak without being wiped out.

RISK:REWARD RATIO

Always aim for at minimum a 1:2 R:R ratio — risk $1 to make $2. A 1:3 ratio is even better. With a 50% win rate and 1:2 R:R, you still profit.

STOP LOSS RULES

Always set a stop loss before entering a trade. Place it below key support (for longs) or above resistance (for shorts). Never move SL against your position.

⚠️ Common Mistakes
MISTAKE  No stop loss — "it will come back"
MISTAKE  Risking 10–20% on one trade
MISTAKE  Moving SL further into loss
MISTAKE  Averaging down without a plan
MISTAKE  Trading without a defined risk plan
CORRECT  1–2% risk, 1:2+ R:R, fixed SL
🧮 Key Formulas
Position Size ($) = (Balance × Risk%) / SL Distance% SL Distance% = |Entry - SL| / Entry × 100 R:R Ratio = |TP - Entry| / |Entry - SL| Kelly % = (W × b - L) / b where b = Avg Win / Avg Loss Expectancy = (Win% × Avg Win) - (Loss% × Avg Loss) Liq Price (Long) = Entry × (1 - 1/Leverage) Liq Price (Short) = Entry × (1 + 1/Leverage)
